I do not believe that there is a formal definition of a or b for phase 2 studies, so the site may not list anything but phase 2.  In practice, a phase 2b study is designed to show efficacy and dose tolerability (phase 3 "light"), while phase 2a are more proof of concept.  In our case the company plans to use the results to ask for expedited aproval - based on efficacy.
