This barrick bid is driving the whole gold market down. I don't see why given how much Barrick paid to get rid of their gold hedges. This I think will be temporary and I don't believe barrick has a crystal ball that is telling them the price of gold is going to fall dramatically like some analysts today are trying to imply by this take over.
