While we wait to hear more on the KINO platform and that mysterious Asian OEM, seeing the content issue being addressed is the biggest hurdle, imo. It wasn`t until the music content issue took shape with iTunes setting the pace that the ipod begin to flourish.

Whoever puts that package together with some ingenuity and hopefully KINO, will likely have an ipod-like experience.

MediaPass, Microsoft Put Music Videos in Your Hip Pocket

AUSTIN, Texas — March 16, 2005 —MediaPass® Network LLC is launching today a new music video download service for Windows Mobile-based devices, making it possible to watch music videos on portable handheld devices wherever you go. The music video services, announced at the year’s premier music industry event, South by Southwest 2005, will deliver videos that can be played back on Windows Mobile-based Portable Media Centers and select Smartphones and Pocket PCs.

Available at www.mediapass.net/musicvideodownloads, the mobile download service allows MediaPass Music subscribers access to download free music videos via a 30-day license to download videos to load onto portable devices.

The service is delivering the latest content from popular artists such as Emma Bunton, Kate Ryan, as well as up-and-coming bands including Slunt, Submersed and The Comas.
