What is the Medeviewer?

Lots of speculation as to what the Medeviewer actually is. Will it be used functionally for some purpose by the hospital staff? Or other?

I started thinking back to when I used to work in a hospital. You`re talking at least 10 years ago.

There was a company that owned the patient room televisions and someone used to come in from this contract company to collect money from the patients so that their tv would be turned on. If you didn`t pay - no tv.

I`m really not sure what kind entertainment there is in hospitals today except for televisions and video game devices for sick children.

I started thinking that maybe the Medeviewer is intended mainly for patients. Think about it. It is so boring being laid up in a hospital after surgery. It would be nice to watch a movie, etc. Don`t forget that there is a credit card swipe (option or not.) That would be a nice way to make a little bit of cash and keep patients who are not very ill - entertained.

Any thoughts? Could be a combo of both of the above.
