One thing that I have been wondering about re: MS and fingerprinting is that - can't fingerprints be electronically stored and possibly duplicated/hacked? In addition, MS saves a defect map in an encripted file to compare to incoming data access requests. So it would seem that the encripted file with the fingerprint/defect map could also be accessed by unsavory characters if they put forth enough effort.

Possibly this information is personalized at an individual/device level that it is not worthy of the hackers' time and effort.

Any thoughts of further understanding?
