On the surface the news does appear quite constructive but I will remind the members that in May of 2013 Pascau-Lama was an environmental disaster for locals in Chile when government regulators threw the book at Barrick for being cheap on their water containment safeguard efforts resulting in the fouling of river waters for downstream locals. Barrick was fined the maximum under the law for their negligence. Even with the recent toxic spill in British Columbia, it appears miners need to concentrate much more on seriously respecting the envirnoment aside from just seeking prospective profits.
