Cerro Verde is somewhat diiferent than the deposits on the Carlin Trend in that the Carlin-type deposits are lacking in base metal values. This does not eliminate the possibility of Carlin type deposits at Cerro Verde because over-printing can occur over time. Usually large, deep-seated crustal structure need to be evident for the emplacement of these types of deposit.

I gave contact information to Canplats management to my friend John Livermore, the legendary gold explorationist. I am surprised they have not contacted him. I specifically talked with Bruce Youngman. I know these guys hold things close but can't figure out why they have not talked with him. John was glad to speak with folks from CPQ... go figure.
