Cerro Verde is somewhat diiferent than the deposits on the Carlin Trend in that the Carlin-type deposits are lacking in base metal values. This does not eliminate the possibility of Carlin type deposits at Cerro Verde because over-printing can occur over time. Usually large, deep-seated crustal structure need to be evident for the emplacement of these types of deposit.
I gave contact information to Canplats management to my friend John Livermore, the legendary gold explorationist. I am surprised they have not contacted him. I specifically talked with Bruce Youngman. I know these guys hold things close but can't figure out why they have not talked with him. John was glad to speak with folks from CPQ... go figure.
Take out soon?
