As with most news coming out of Venezuela this article is quite ambivalent in respect to our cause. It means mining is getting some attention finally, however, it could also mean they could pay off the locals in the Las Cristinas area as well. I would find the pay off of miners less likely in this area, since the government would have to move an entire town to prevent mining.

I am a little frustrated with Russro since they seem to get the preferential treatment. They also just annouce a major investment in the area with 80 million US availble to them.

I received a response from RM asking him if they were taking a hands off approach, since Sanz seems to be working on the gold mining issue. His reply was they are still using every available avenue.
