The aim is to replace graphite in the anodes of lithium-ion batteries and the current price for graphite is about $10/kg. Silicon anodes can carry 2-4x the energy density vs. graphite, therefore making it 2-4x as valuable, kg for kg. That said in order to create a paradigm shift in consideration for silicon, it would have to come from $30,000/kg down to $20-40/kg. I believe the PUREVAP QRR produces high purity silicon feedstock @ $1.50/kg and I'm sure PUREVAP NSiR total cost will be <$10 /kg.
Until we start producing at full scale, I don't see why we can't sell 30T from Gen2 NSiR for at least $10,000/kg...
