I know this is off-topic, but I have been getting various questions via PM on what trading platform and what tools I use to trade. Today being a non trading day, I will take this time to answer a few of these questions. Hope it helps a few on what tools I use. This is not a recommendation for any of these various services, merely the ones I use and a brief reason why.

I use TD ActiveTrader as my trading platform. Trades are $7 flat across the board, matters not how may shares or dollar value. The thing I like about TD is the ability to get on the phone and actually have someone answer to take care of your problems.

For level 2 with streaming real time portfolio's, with daytrader station and the best analyical tools available I use StockWatch. It costs me around $120 month, but you get what you pay for. A must have tool for the serious trader.

A site I use that has great charts, best news service on the internet, a chat room that is best in class for traders is TradingChief. It is a free to join site, but to use all the tools of the site it cost $20 per month. If it cost $200 a month it would still be cheap to me. Just one trade from this gem of a site and you can pay for 5 years of subscriptions. This is simply the best site for the money on the internet.
