Status of Claims in the Immediate area of Noront's Discovery in the McFauld's Lake region of the James Bay Lowlands

There seems to have been some confusion lately concerning the status of claims surrounding and in the vicinity of Noront’s discovery claim (3012264), which it optioned from Condor in May of this year.

Indeed, this confusion is attributable to what I believe is a somewhat misleading news release made by BMK in which they state that have recently staked “claim groups adjacent to the south boundary of the Noront Double Eagle Property and covering what is interpreted to be the contact of an important geological unit.” Some have understood this to mean that the claims staked adjoin NOT’s discovery, which is not the case. I suggest anyone who is in doubt contact BMK and ask them to clarify the location of their claims in relation to the location of claim #3012264 – NOT’s discovery claim.

In an effort to resolve this matter for the benefit of both NOT and BMK shareholders , I have listed below all of the claims adjoining or in the immediate vicinity of NOT’s discovery claim, specifying position, title holder, and date acquired. I hope this will help set the record straight. There are more claims, but I think the list below is sufficient to establish the record of claims in the discovery area. Furthermore, the claims listed are cover a 360 degree radius around the discovery claim.

Noront:

  1. 3012264 – Discovery claim staked in April 2003 in the name of Condor and Greenstone. Optioned to Noront in May 2007.
  2. 3012265 – Northwest of the discovery claim and touching the NW corner. Also in April 2003 in the name of Condor and Greenstone. Optioned to Noront in May 2007.
  3. 3012259 – Adjoining the discovery claim due south. Recorded in April 2003 in the name of Richard Nemis and transferred to Noront in June 2004.
  4. 3012256 – Adjoining the discovery claim to the east. Recorded in April 2003 in the name of Richard Nemis and transferred to Noront in June 2004.
  5. 3005670 – To the northeast of the discovery claim and above 3012256. Recorded in November 2003 in the name of Richard Nemis and transferred to Noront in June 2004.
  6.  4218904 – 2 claims due north of the discovery claim, and immediately north of Probe Mines’ claim 3006707.  Recorded on September 4, 2007 by Peplinski on behalf of Noront.
  7. 4218888 – Northwest and two claims removed from the discovery claim. Recorded on September 4, 2007 by Peplinski on behalf of Noront.
  8. 4218890 – Due west and two claims removed from the discovery claim. Adjoins the west boundary of 3012265. Recorded on September 4, 2007 by Peplinski on behalf of Noront.
  9. 3012260 – Southwest and two claims removed from the discovery claim. Adjoins the west boundary of claim 3012259. Recorded in April 2003 in the name of Richard Nemis and transferred to Noront in June 2004.

Fancamp:

  1. 3012258 – Adjoins the southeast corner of the discovery claim. Recorded in April 2003 in the name of Richard Nemis and transferred to Fancamp in July 2003.

Probe Mines:

  1. 3006709 – Adjoins the lower half of the west boundary of the discovery claim. Recorded in April 2006 for Probe Mines.
  2. 3006708 – Adjoins the north boundary of the discovery claim. Recorded in April 2006 for Probe Mines.
  3. 3006707 – Due north and one claim removed from the discovery claim. This claim adjoins Probe’s 3006707 claim, and also the north boundary of NOT’s 3012265. Recorded in April 2006 for Probe Mines.
