Winter storm warning for

Webequie continued

Significant storm delivering a mixture of snow..Ice pellets and freezing rain tonight through Friday.

This is a warning that dangerous winter weather conditions are imminent or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A potent disturbance currently over southern Minnesota is slowly tracking northwards. An extended period of mixed precipitation is occurring over a wide swath of northwestern Ontario.

An organized hodge-podge of ice pellets..Freezing rain and snow continues to fall over much of the warned regions. Further snow and ice pellet accumulations of 10 centimetres or so is likely tonight with similar amounts expected on Friday. In Big Trout Lake the precipitation will be primarily snow and begin later this evening then continue through Friday and Friday night. Total accumulations of 20 centimetres are quite likely by Saturday morning..Especially between Pickle Lake and Big Trout Lake.

Farther south..Intermittent freezing rain will continue this evening but become patchy overnight.

Please exercise caution if travelling in the warned regions today.
