Dear AGORACOM members,
Due to an internal investigation, which we began on Monday, along with the assistance of several AGORACOM members via Private Message, we have concluded that a single AGORACOM employee has been posting on AGORACOM using 5 different aliases which include “Goldilox”, “NTO”, “yyyman”, “Au” and “lurch1”.
As a result, we’ve taken the following actions:
- We have deleted all of the aliases and the posts associated with them
- The employee has been fined 3 months’ salary
- The employee has been put on probation which includes automatic dismissal for any future posts on AGORACOM or any other stock discussion forums
It goes without saying, that George and I are extremely and unequivocally disappointed in the actions of this employee.
George started this company 12 years ago and I joined him 9 years ago to build AGORACOM from the ground up based on the principle of doing things the right way. This simple principle has served us well as it lead to the creation of AGORACOM and where it is today. Unfortunately we are not immune to the actions of one employee acting of their own volition as they cannot be monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Nonetheless, George and I want to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize to our members. We will be implementing further measures over the next 60 days to ensure that this never happens again and we also want to reiterate that AGORACOM always has and always will operate under the principle of simply doing the right thing.
In 2008 AGORACOM reported that 1.31 million investors visited AGORACOM 7.95 million times and read 96 million pages of information which is proof positive that we’ve all built an incredible global community together.
George is in flight from New York City right now. He is fully aware of the facts and would like members to know that he will be fully accessible by Private Message 24 hours a day, tomorrow and over the entire weekend.
