Although it has ellicited some very interesting replies, I guess it is about time to bring this subject to a close.

First of all, the rock density at 2000m would vary little, if any, from rock at 200m.

Secondly if the drill can lower and raise 2000m of drill rod, it could certainly lift anything that was inside a 10 ft core barrel at the end of it.

Also the specific gravity of rock that held mineralization from any depth would be indentical to rock from surface, and a lab would have no difficulty analysing it, regardless of what it held.

AND nobody seems to understand the simple phrase"TFIC".

My whole reason for posting this is that there are so many armchair quarterbacks here with their own opinion of what is going on up at the ROF, and what it is going to take to correct the situation. In reality they have never been there and judging by the replies here yesterday and today, have no idea of the difficulties of this deep drilling they are trying to get a handle on up there. Drilling to these depths is a very specialized business, and takes a very special kind of person to be able to do it. Try taking a 10 foot pole. hold it by the last 6 inches of one end, and use the other end to turn on a light switch, with your eyes closed. Then imagine someone with a 2-3 inch pipe 2 km long, and they have to direct it to one particular spot in the ground, while it is turning, and having to understand exactly what is happening at the tip every minute it is down there. One slip and you get to start all over again. I would bet there aren't 20 people in Canada right now that can do it continually, and they are all busy in Red Lake at the moment.

They will get this thing figured out. It will take time, which we tend to be short of, but when they do........
