A sad but true state of affairs. I work in Pickle Lake and on many of these reserves and see it every day. If anyone is interested in learning a little more, the book "Where the Pavement Ends" by Marie Wadden is a good start. It doesn't deal with the mining aspect of First Nations relations, but it does paint a good picture of life for the First Nations People of this country.
