If it helps, most of my de-risking of Poet has occurred when Geoff has spoken about Poet's advances on the technology or published his findings.

The academic community is ultra-conservative about conceptual/scientific advances and findings, and that is justifiably and rightfully so. If you can prove your idea to this crowd, you have achieved a major accomplishment. And, it is worth keeping in mind that it is this very same crowd who, via strict and rigorous peer review, govern whether something gets published.

All members of the academic community are well trained to find problems or disprove existing concepts/applications and then work hard and smart to find new solutions. That. essentially, is what Geoff has done in trying to crack the silicon Moore's law nut.

Therefore, while the market, some media, and some investors may question what Geoff says about Poet's chip technology and its capabilities, I can assure you that his results had to face far more rigid tests of accuracy, validity, reliability and credibility than the market, media, or investors could ever put to him.

Other risks may mess up Poet's outcomes and/or potential, but the science and the patents are solid.
