Could it be that while POET Technologies couldn't make a competitive offer for Anadigics, they brought II-VI as a white knight into the game via their relationship to EpiWorks? So they couldn't acquire Anadigics themselves, but at least arranged for Anadigics to remain within reach at a buddy company instead of going to China.
