Alan Kwong, P.Eng., M.Sc., M.B.A

CEO, Managing Director, PharmEng International Inc.

Senior executive with extensive management and professional experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Mr. Kwong has worked with various companies such as Ontario Cancer Institute, Connaught Laboratories Limited, Purdue Frederick Inc., NuPharm Inc.(subsidiary of Apotex), Glaxo Canada Inc., John Brown E&C in Chicago and Taro Pharmaceuticals USA in New York. In 1997, Mr. Kwong returned to Toronto from New York to start PharmEng Technology Inc., and since then has grown into Keata Pharma Inc., PharmEng USA Inc. and PharmEng International Inc (traded under symbol PII in TSXV). Mr. Kwong obtained his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and his M.Sc. And MBA from the University of Toronto.

Ravi Joshi, B.Sc. (Chem.)

Mr. Joshi has over 30 years experience in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industry. He has acquired extensive North American and European experience in Administration, Pharmaceutical & API Manufacturing plants operations and management, Project Management, Product Development, Validation and Quality Assurance. He is also an innovative strategist skilled at assessing and implementing cost effective solutions with effective training. Prior to joining PharmEng, Mr. Joshi was Director of Pharma Development with Novartis Canada.

J. Bernard Boudreau, PC, QC

President, Keata Pharma Inc.

Mr. Boudreau has a distinguished record as a lawyer, businessman and public figure. After running successful business practice of law firm from since the mid 70s, he was appointed as Queen’s Counsel, a Director of the Bank of Canada, Leader of the Government in the Senate of Canada, and as the federal Minister responsible for Nova Scotia. He also held positions as Minister of State with Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) a Director of Export Development Canada (“EDC”). Mr. Boudreau joined PharmEng in July 2004.

Ben Lee, P.Eng., B.Sc.

COO, North American Operations, PharmEng Technology Inc.

Over 20 years experience in all aspects of Project Management. Timely and cost effective delivery of over $360.0M in major projects in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, hospital and manufacturing sectors from concept to completion. Comprehensive knowledge and practice of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), HPFBI, FDA and CFR 21 Part 11. Direct experience in project planning such as benefit cost analysis, life cycle costing, feasibility studies, change control, operational/technical requirements computerized process flow analysis & optimization, functional programming, space programming, land use and environmental approvals. Extensive experience in project budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, design and construction.

Joel Cheng, B. Sc. Chemistry

Joel has 26 years of experiences working in sales and marketing management of pharmaceutical product development and lab instrument products, esp. in international distribution channel management in pharmaceuticals, APIs and lab instrument. Joel is the co- founder and president of PharmLink Inc., which was acquired by PharmEng Technology Inc. and became PharmEng Innovations Division. Prior to establishing PharmLink, Joel has worked in various management positions with Agilent Technologies Inc. and Hewlett Packard/Agilent Technologies in US and Canada.

Brian Fielding, BCom, CA

Chief Operating and Financial Officer, PharmEng International Inc

Mr. Fielding began his career with Coopers and Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) and spent 14 years with Aventis Pasteur Limited with the last position as the Vice President of Finance. He served in different capacities as CEO/CFO of Z-Tech Inc. (Canada) a medical device company focused on breast cancer screening, Millenium Biologix Corp., a TSX-listed company dealing with orthobiologics, cell therapy and tissue engineering, and Glycodesign Inc., a TSX-listed drug discovery company focused on cardiovascular and chronic inflammatory diseases. Mr. Fielding has also provided contract CFO services to several other companies including Cita NeuroPharmaceuticals Inc., Helix BioPharam Corp. and Hemosol Inc.

Mr. Fielding is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto.

Charles is responsible for the overall direction of the company's investor relations program and expanding the PharmEng Pharmaceutical Certificate Program. Prior to joining PharmEng, Mr. Ivey was Chairman and Lead Director of Centrinity Inc., a TSX listed company. Mr. Ivey has extensive experience in early stage corporate strategic development with a focus on operations and financing activities, having been responsible for start up projects in Canada, U.S., and the Caribbean.

Vasu Chanchlani Director,

Vasu Chanchlani is the Managing Director and co-founder of Sigma Systems Group, a global IT products and services family of companies with responsibilities including financial management, corporate policy formulation, and overall guidance in the operations of Sigma Group of Companies. Vasu is also Vice-Chair of the Board for Karma Candy Inc, one of the largest private label and contract manufacturer of seasonal confectionery products in Canada. Prior to establishing Sigma, Vasu held a series of senior roles in some of the largest telecommunications and consulting organizations in Canada. Over the past few years, Vasu has been investing in India in areas where he believes India will offer a strategic advantage to global corporations. His current areas of investments include clinical trials and pharmaceutical companies. Vasu holds a masters degree in Industrial and Management Engineering from IIT Kanpur as well as an MBA from the University of Toronto.

Mr. Aditya Jha Director,

Mr. Aditya Jha has more than 20 years of experience in North America and International markets. He has co-founded two software companies, Isopia Inc and Osellus Inc., the former company being acquired by Sun Microsystems. Aditya is currently President & CEO of Karma Candy Inc, one of the largest contract confectionery manufacturers of Canada and has several other business interests. He started his professional career after 4 1/2 years of his Ph.D. studies at the School of Computer & Systems Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, India and worked in various capacities at technology companies in India, Singapore and Canada. Aditya is the Founder & Chairman of POA Educational Foundation, the Chair of UNICEF Canada India HIV/AIDS Campaign, and a federal government appointee to the First Nations Financial Management Board as well as the Government of Ontario's appointee to Ontario Investment & Trade Advisory Council. Aditya's foundation runs a unique initiative called Project Beyshick to nurture entrepreneurship amongst Canadian aboriginals and he has set-up endowments at four universities that disburses thirteen scholarships totaling $40,000 annually.

Phalgun Joshi, B.Sc. (Hons)., PhD

Phalgun has over 18 years experience in all aspects of Pharma/Biotech project management with a strong background in research and development from concept to completion in industry and academia in the areas of infectivity, gene therapy, drug discovery and assay development. He has extensive experience and knowledge in the development and implementation of quality systems in biotech and natural health food companies and in cGMP, GLP and Natural Health Product Directive Regulations and Project Management

Maja Mrkic, , M.Sc., PMP
Director, North Carolina Operations, PharmEng USA

Maja is responsible for PharmEng North Carolina Operations. Maja has extensive technical and management project experience with pharmaceutical, biotech and API companies. Extensive background in Quality Assurance, Audits, Master Validation planning, Drug Master File and Site Reference file preparation. Experience in different areas of validation/qualification: equipment, thermal processes, utilities, and retrospective validation of computerized system and legacy equipment to ensure compliance. Well versed in cGMP requirements (HC/FDA/ICH/WHO guidelines) and compliance regulations for pharmaceuticals, biologicals, and active pharmaceutical ingredients.

Zaheer Abassi, B.Sc., Pharm.

Zaheer has over 30 years of experience in Product Development, Process & Equipment qualification & Validation, Manufacturing & Technology Transfer within the Pharmaceutical Industry. He has developed & implemented effective cost reduction programs as well as Standard Operating Procedures, & provided GMP training to personnel. Prior to joining PharmEng, Zaheer had held executive management position with Apotex, Aventis Pasteur, etc.


Jerry Holatko, B.Sc., Chem.
Senior Director, PharmEng Technology Inc.

Jerry has over 30 years experience in regulatory positions with Health Canada. His former position was Manager of Medical Devices / BTOX Unit in Ontario and Nunavut Operation Centre. He has extensive experience in regulatory development and interpretation, training, auditing, inspection and investigation of issues involving all dosage forms and commodities regulated under the Food and Drugs Act and Regulations. He was involved in the development and drafting of the current Medical Devices Regulations and associated guidance documents.


Jack Basarke, , B.Sc.

Jack has over 35 years experience working with Health Canada. His former position was Head of Drug GMP Unit for Ontario Region. He was instrumental in negotiation of the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) with the European Union, and also acted as an internal technical advisor to various groups within Health Canada. He has given numerous presentations to various groups such as ISPE, DIA, PDA, PSG and the University of Toronto.


Yiu-Chung Lee (Y.C. Lee), Ph.D.

As an exceptional scientist, YC has over 20 years in product development and laboratory analytical testing in pharmaceutical products and API. YC is the co-founder of PharmLink Inc., which now became PharmEng Innovations, a division of PharmEng Technology Inc. Prior to founding of PharmLink, YC was Director of Analytical Development, Pharmaceutical Development Services for Patheon, and Manager for Eli Lilly. YC’s expertise is in global pharmaceutical development project management, analytical method and formulation development, regulatory submission. He is the co-founder of Calibration & Validation Group (CVG), Canada and USP Stakeholder Committee Member.

Gabriel Lam

Senior Director, PharmEng Innovations

Gabriel has extensive validation experience in pharmaceutical industry, special in compliance services on analytical instruments in QC and R&D laboratories. He specializes in project management; designing validation strategy and execution on laboratory instruments and computer. Gabriel was the founder and president of Rootlink Inc., a company specializes in lab instrumentation total solutions, which now became PharmEng Innovations, a division of PharmEng Technology Inc. Prior to founding Rootlink, Gabriel had worked for Hewlett Packard/ Agilent for 17 years providing compliance services to highly regulated industry in instrument operation, maintenance, troubleshooting services and training


Nader Moslemian, B.Sc. P.Eng
Director, PharmEng Technology Inc.

Nader is responsible for engineering and metrology services at PE. His expertise are engineering design, analysis, validation and project management of pharmaceutical and biotechnology facilities and building utilities including HVAC, Water Purification, Pure Steam, Compressed Gasses, Vacuum, and Plumbing Systems as well as Process Equipment. Nader is an active member of ISPE and ASHRAE. Prior to PE, Nader has worked for international consulting and construction firms as a project engineer and manager for six years.


Sinisa Petrovic, B.Sc.E.E.

Sinisa’s expertise is in business development and project management in the area of computerized systems validation, operations and strategic IT development. He has over 10 years of experience with validation of computerized systems, equipment and various application software, development and implementation of hardware and software components, design and implementation of computer networks, providing training and courses, performing formal assessments and remediation services
