The technology described uses a different type of plasma than what is used by PyroGenesis.  It seems to be non-equilibrium plasma, also sometimes referred as “cold plasma”. PyroGenesis works with thermal plasma which operates at much higher temperatures. Thermal plasma is typically not a technology of choice for water treatment, as it too energy intensive.  In other words, an expensive way to boil water.

That being said, thermal plasma has been used for wastewater sludge drying and oxidation (technology developed by Hydro-Quebec). We like such opportunities as we typically target niche market (high tipping fee, high value) waste for our environmental plasma technologies and, as such, keep a close eye on fracking opportunities.
