The business line was not cancelled at all.  We just took a step back as oil field R&D all but disappeared with the collapse in oil prices. We decided to dedicate our resources to lower hanging fruit (such as HPQ, Drosrite, and AM).

Notwithstanding the set back in the industry we have pursued our patent application in preparation for better days.  We have an allowed patent in the US (US Patent 10,253,971).  The patent is also pending in 3 other jurisdictions (Canada, Eurasia and Venezuela): countries/groups of countries where SAGD is used.

We still believe that our breakthrough technology would be interesting in lowering the carbon footprint of oil extraction in Alberta.  However, this would require a cleaner electrical grid.  Currently, electricity in AB is produced mainly from coal and natural gas. The combination of our plasma fired boiler with a clean grid (wind, solar…) would allow to do oil extraction without greenhouse gas emissions from natural gas combustion (which is the case now with conventional boilers).

So, in short, the business line has not been cancelled.  We will pursue opportunities in the oil and gas field as they present themselves, but in the interim we have been pursuing more mature opportunities such as Drosrite, powders, etc. .
