AGORACOM NEWS FLASH

Dear Agoracom Family,

I want to thank all of you for your patience with us over the past 48 hours and apologize for what was admittedly a botched launch of our new site.

As you can see, we have reverted back to the previous version of the site while we address multiple forum functionality flaws that inexplicably made their way into the launch.

To this end:

1.We have identified 8 fundamental but easily fixable flaws that will be corrected in the coming week, so that you can continue to use the forums exactly as you've been accustomed to.

2.Additionally we will also be implementing a couple of design improvements to "tighten up" the look and feel of the forums.

Sincerely,

George et al

Message: Parts and Maintenance Contracts

Dear PteRoy

Good to see you post again.  Sorry to hear that things are not going as smooth as you want these days.  If it is any consolence, I know many people that are a bit down and depressed post-covid … it seems to be the exception if you are not.  Hang in there, with time this post-covid angst will pass as well. Call me if you ever want to chat about life or whatever...I will definitely put you to sleep faster than any pills ;-).

Your questions are very good and, I agree, service contracts go out quite along time (the 15-20 years you mention is quite common…even 25 years).  We thought it better to be conservative when making calculations and set on 10 years. but we thought to be conservative

With respect to existing service contracts being an impediment to our progress, absolutely not.  They do not, for whatever reason, seem to be concerned about this.  I believe there are exit clauses that are entirely manageable.

Hope that Helps

Peter
