For me share count is pretty much irrevevalent....that sound crazy I know, but it comes with a qualification.
What matters is market capitalization......How much is Apabetalone worth? If its successful with even JUST Diabetes Mellitus in reducing MAC events, then I don't think $1 Billion USD is unrealistic, in fact I think that's being over the top conservative, as in stupid conservative. Diabetes alone is being called a global epidemic....$5 or maybe even $10 billion USD is probably more accruate if BETonMACE succeeds and RVX208 is approved both in Europe and by the FDA eventually.
And if its also successful with CKD, Thrombosis, Alzheimers and other indications....then much higher.....much much much higher.
So let's go bat sheet crazy and assume a dilutive raise comes and balloons the share count to 300 million fully diluted. Even an insanely conservative MC of just $1 billion USD equals a share price of $3.33 USD or about $4.35 CDN at current conversion rates.
Here and now.....I've seen other Biotechs nowhere near a phase III trial and with equal cash constraints have market caps in the billions, and in USD.
Bottom line....meh, just gotta be patient. If BETonMACE succeeds I'm not worried. The only thing I'll be worried about with a successful trial is what I'm going to do with all the $$$ I'm going to have. If it fails shareholders are gonna get creamed.
