I reread Tundup's repost from last year by Cabel and he had said the following;

"Should be able to give top line results even if don’t reach 250 events (but will continue with trial until do reach 250 events). (Not sure I fully understood how you can give top line results before reaching the target number of events….)."

They are saying that they could have ended trial and given top line results at some point in time like year-end even without reaching 250 MACE but that they wouldn't. They would continue to 250 regardless of the time it takes to achieve that which as they have said will strengthen the trial.
