Thanks OT I learnt something new today. I wasn't confusing the two, just didn't know any better. From your explanation I would prefer options to RSU's in a comp package.

Having said that it would seem to me that the timing of the issue of these RSU's is an exceptionally bullish sign for managements view going forward. Having a big taxable event just months before  the readout of a major trial, if bad news gets delivered it would compound the problems for management and employees alike. Having this done the way it is is actually great news.
