My true believe is that Don always wanted to do this within a group of insiders (partnerships) of his choosing. A Big Pharma would basically take over command and that would take away the accolades, due to him (as he sees it) with a successful Apabetalone. I believe this is more important to him than the money.

If management and the major insiders do not approve of his leadership they would have shown him the door moons ago
