I used to deal with Canacoord. My experience was that they were not very ethical. They manipulate stocks, promote 'dogs' to their clients, and sell good stocks when it makes no sense to do so. They work large trades in a stock to screw both parties and reap transaction fees and possibly 'other' revenue. After getting screwed by them a couple of times I no longer have anything to do with them. Bottom line: you can't draw any meaningful conclusion from their behaviour except that they are trying to make themselves (not their clients) some money.
