In addition to Chauncey's comments- once you submit the paperwork to Capital Transfer, they will send you a DRS certificate. When your receive your DRS certificate- contact your investing firm as they can e-mail you a form to complete- scan both the completed form and the DRS certificate and send it to your investing firm. They will take a few days to put it into your investing account (unless you want to pay them around $200 to do it immediately). If you want to then move it to your TFSA you can do it on-line of call them. Tax is owable on anything over $3 when it is transferred to the TFSA.
