Did they say if any or all the candidates for the election were mining friendly? It would pose a problem for us if we had to start again at square one.

I have a major holding in Panama. The government there implemented a new mining law - that lasted for a couple of weeks. Then, after a series of protests the government rescinded the law putting a big question mark on future exploration. AND Panama is supposed to be mining friendly.
