The gamut of potentials is numerous and several of the potentials would be enormously unsettleing for world order and security of oil supplies. Should Egypt become a radical Islamic theocracy, such as is Iran, it would have enormous consequence for world stability. And should a radical Islamic theocracy develop, short of concerted world wide political and military intervention take place, the Suez Canal would most definitely be at jeoporady. The potential to impact upon world oil supplies would be enormous. And we have yet to know what other regional powers ( Iran, Syria ) may be doing of a surreptitous nature.

Though this issue is only tangentially applicable to Connacher, the potential for the overall effect on Canadian Oil Sands is so tremendous that I feel posts which take into account the impact and address, the issue within such a context should be permitted.
