esports is in its infancy.
It took 20 years to get game consoles into every kids home, then it took 10 years to get internet connectivity and speed good enough for gaming to be distributed over the internet. It will be 5 years for organized sports to be eclipsed by organized esports.

While at one time it was hard for me to accept that kids would rather play and compete in video games, this doesn't appear to be a passing fad :)

Already the video game industry is much larger than the movie biz.

How all of this impacts the gambling industry remains to be seen. But with Trump in office, I would imagine it's good for the gaming biz.
