Noretreat - Our TSFA here in Canada is similar to a Roth IRA in the USA. We can buy or sell any company in that account that trades on what CRA, our version of the IRS considers to be a legitimate stock exchange. Zenith being a private company crosses a couple of lines in the determination of eligibility however it has been determined that yes it is eligible as narmac confirmed. The single biggest problem we have with private companies in "registered plans" here in Canada is how are they valued as there is no live market that they trade on. Generally it takes a larger accounting firm to value a private company to have CRA and the plans trustee accept the valuation. That is where we in Canada are right now WRT transferring shares of Zenith Capital Corp shares from a cash account to a TSFA account or an RSP account, our version of your 401K. Each January 1st we are able to put a new amount into this TSFA account. This year that amount is $6,000. Many of us want to put as many shares of Zenith as we can into this TSFA account so the gain from the valuation point to, hopefully the sale price does not get taxed. It would be really nice for all of us here in the cold north to get a tax free lump sum this year and a string of royalties for many years to come, all tax free. Getting this right is what this thread is all about for Canadians.

That's the best I can do to bring you up to date on this thread. Unfortunately it does not have any effect on our US investors which I think you are one of.

All IMO, dyodd.
