I think the resignation is just making room for another appointment. Remember that he stood for and was re-elected only 1 1/2 months ago. The Board stood behind him then and he was willing to stand at that time. If leaving for his own reasons, he could have just not stood for re-election and someone else would have been put forward with no fanfare and little market reaction. I won't guess whether it has to do with the debenture or some other deal but it would appear to me to just be making room for an appointment. 

In my opinion, today's news release was all about the resignation as it had to be announced. Everything added was to just attempt to smooth it over in the market as we know how it reacts to directors stepping down. Without the resignation, we would not have heard from RVX today.
