You can earn activity points by filling your profile with information about yourself (what city you live in, your favorite team, blogs etc.)
I can't see them giving out that kind of information to an individual. It could easily be regarded as insider information. August 25th, DM said it would be starting "any day now". That's open to interpretation of course, but I would guess it means in the next week or two or three.
